Are pocket pets easier to take care of?

Not necessarily. Although they do not need to be taken out on walks and may eat smaller amounts of food, smaller furry friends have different kinds of requirements that may call for a certain level of effort on your part. Depending on their species, your pocket pet will have specific nutrition, housing, grooming, and socialization needs that you need to keep an eye on.

How long do pocket pets live?

Your pet’s expected life span depends on their species and unique situation. There are certain pocket pets that live for a relatively long time. For example, rabbits and gerbils have a life expectancy of about 10 years. On the other hand, hamsters and rats usually live for approximately 1 to 3 years.

Can people be allergic to pocket pets?

Yes. Like with traditional furry companions, it is possible for the human members of your family to have adverse reactions to your pocket pets. People with asthma and other allergies may be negatively affected by pocket pets who have long hair/fur or have hay as a main part of their diet.
